Composition in Red, Blue, and Yellow

I chose the painting Composition in Red, Blue, and Yellow by Piet Mondrian.  The painting was done in 1920.  The medium is oil on canvas.  The size is 23 3/4 by 21 7/8 inches.  It is located at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.  I like how Mondrian uses small bursts of primary colors in this painting.  The book states that his use of geometric designs in limited colors is one of the most important proponents of abstract art.  I think it is interesting to see his progression from using curved lines in his earlier works to the straight lines that are seen in his later works.
