Anthemius of Tralles and Isodurs of Miletus are mathematicians that were assigned to create this church in Constantinople (Istanbul, Turkey) by Emperor Justinian. This painting is the visual representation of what was created by these two mathematicians around the 6th century. The reason why i choose this specific illustration to blog about is due to the amount of detail involved in it. For instance, the contrast of the dark and light give this illustration a Consecrated atmosphere. Additionally, all the symbols on the wall and the objects on the floor of this illustration fed my curiosity; i couldn't help but be drawn in.
