Water Lillies by Money

Claude_Monet_-_Water_Lilies_-_1906,_Ryerson.jpg
Water Lillies is a painting by  a french artist named Monet in the early 1900s. He is known for many of his landscape paintings and for his use of oil paintings. I love the way this picture blends and uses a contrast of many cool colors with a pop of pink. This picture has a calming feel to with little ripples in the the water and the lillys resting so smoothly on top of the water. The brush strokes all seem to be different in lenght and pressure. I can magine alot of animals living in this pond and i wonder why Monet chose not to paint any in this picture and the only reason I could think is because the style of the painting wouldnt have fit in with the strokes used.  I also like the reflection of the other trees above the pond to add to the nature of this painting.
