Roy Lichtenstein painted this pop art in 1963 and is a part of his series focusing on war. He was in London while painting this, and he used magna acrylic and oil on canvas. He borrowed this art style from comic books with the vibrant colors, thick outlines, and shading style. Roy actually took a couple pages from war comic books and used different parts from each to come up with this painting. I would love to see a comic book that had this much detail in each page. Roy perfectly captured the comic book style.
