VALZQUEz, "Las Meninas"

this painting entitled "Las Meninas" by Velaquez was created in 1656 in Prado, Madrid. One of the most fascinating aspects of this painting is how real the people in this painting. this is do the act that he created forms by the utilization of color and light, he avoided lines. I choose this picture because although the characters in this painting seem to real, there is still an awkward stiffness in this painting. Additionally, the focal point of this painting is obviously the little girl dressed in white, I believe this to be so because of the high contrast between her and the rest of the painting. Everything else seems to be darker.
