The Horse Fair

1853–55
Rosa Bonheur (French, 1822–1899)
Oil on canvas

Well.... I like the light in this, It so realistic. To me,  it looks like  water color but the MET says its oil. I think that it must have been applied in light layers.  The book says she sketched at the horse fair  dressed as a man to not attract attention and she was one of the first real woman's power people.  She is well regarded for  her ability to paint realistic animals.
