Sunset on the Seine at Lavacourt, Winter Effect

I chose the painting Sunset on the Seine at Lavacourt, Winter Effect by Claude Monet.  The painting was completed in 1880.  The medium is oil on canvas.  The size is 100 cm by 150 cm.  I chose this painting because I like the soft, pastel colors Monet uses.  The vibrant orange color makes the sun stand out from the rest of the painting.  I like how the trees and bushes in the foreground are detailed but, the buildings in the background are faint and almost blend in with the rest of the painting.
